The Ministry of the Solicitor General, the Ontario Provincial Police and Commander of Security Bureau seek qualified people to provide 24-hour security for Ontario government buildings, its contents, parking garage and grounds, or those used by the Government of Ontario that are secured by the OPP, including physical safety and security to its occupants and visitors.
Note: This posting is for permanent opportunities within the Queen's Park Detachment. The results of this competition will be used to fill multiple current and anticipated vacancies within the unit. Qualified and eligible candidates may be considered for positions arising over the 12 months following the closing date of this competition.
The governing legislation within Section 92 advises that to be eligible for this position the applicant must be at least 18 years of age and either a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or landed immigrant of Canada. The hours of work are 40 hours per week. You are expected to work rotating shifts of 12 hours in a security detachment that provides 7 days per week service, 24 hours a day.
This position is an operational position requiring in-person attendance. The successful applicant will be required to report to Queen's Park Detachment to perform their duties in accordance with Ontario Public Service workplace policies.

We are the largest police service in Ontario and the second largest in Canada. Security Bureau houses the OPP security function under a single, unified command. The Bureau provides effective, efficient and consistent protective and investigative services.
