Job Description

We are searching for the best talent for Sr Attorney supporting Tax Litigation, Labor Litigation, Consulting and also Corporate Matters based in São Paulo, Brazil.

Purpose

This attorney will be responsible for supporting the litigation team managing Tax and Labor Litigation, collaborating with legal external counsel when necessary, and in advising internal clients on various legal issues. The attorney will collaborate with team members and Partners on legal projects, and will also support Corporate Matters (By Laws, PoA, Legal Entities representation, etc.).

You will be responsible for
  • Provides operational support across Litigation Practice Groups related to litigation cases.
  • Supporting the Litigation Team managing Tax and Labor Litigation cases with accurate assessment of litigation risks, reserves, and implications in different sorts of matters.
  • Providing advice on Tax and Labor matters, especially to Tax, Finance, Accounting, and HR teams, with guidance ensuring analysis and providing legal support in inspections (pre-litigation phase).
  • Supporting the Litigation Team managing the procedure related to obtain the Tax Clearance Certificates.
  • Attending internal and external meetings representing the interest of the company (e.g., Trade/Sector Association Committees and Congresses, etc.).
  • Support and advise on Tax Litigation and Labor matters for J&J, partnering with business functional clients and with outside counsel supporting business opportunities while ensuring compliance with applicable legislation, industry guidelines, and internal policies.
  • Support on Tax Litigation to identify and implement opportunities that deliver a positive cash or P&L impact to the business.
  • Supporting the Litigation Team in internal audits by providing documents and explanations related to audit requests, reviewing findings, and developing action plans to address any issues.
  • Supporting the Litigation Team in Corporate Matters: preparing and reviewing drafts of articles of Association, shareholder meetings, and record keeping.
  • Integrate Johnson & Johnson’s Credo and Leadership Imperatives into team goals and decision making.
Requirements
  • Individual contributor who works independently with minimal supervision.
  • Adheres to established confidentiality, privacy, and safety guidelines.
  • In-house attorney with experience in Litigation (focused on Labor or Tax) and Corporate Matters, with experience in private practice in the industry.
  • Proven ability to provide outstanding legal services to and interact with a range of senior executives and authorities.
  • Strong interpersonal communication, leadership, and teamwork skills and an excellent track record of collaboration with colleagues.
  • Business oriented with an ability to work with business colleagues to identify and implement practical solutions, including where appropriate litigation.
  • Proven example of highest ethical legal and compliance standards.
Qualifications - External

Academic Background:

  • Graduation in Law with BAR approval (required)
Languages

Advanced English.

Experience

At least 5 years of relevant experience in Litigation (focused on Labor or Tax); Healthcare industry experience (a plus).
