About the Opportunity
Envana is expanding its Sustainability and Decarbonisation practice in South America and is seeking an experienced SME – Methane & OGMP (Oil & Gas) to support and lead client engagements across the region.
This role focuses on helping oil & gas and energy-sector clients improve the accuracy of their greenhouse gas inventories, design and implement methane measurement and mitigation programs, and align with OGMP 2.0, MRV best practices, and international reporting frameworks.
As an experienced SME, you will work closely with operators, technical teams, and sustainability leaders to move beyond emissions reporting toward measurement-informed emissions management and abatement. The role combines deep technical expertise in methane and GHG accounting with client-facing advisory, data integration, and strategic decarbonisation support.
This position offers an opportunity to play a key role in shaping Envana’s advisory presence in South America and supporting regional operators as methane regulation, transparency, and performance expectations continue to evolve.
This role is open to candidates based anywhere in South America.
Key Responsibilities
Client Delivery & Technical Leadership
- Lead consulting engagements focused on methane quantification, MRV, and OGMP 2.0 alignment for oil & gas and energy-sector clients.
- Support the development of measurement-informed GHG inventories, including reconciliation of bottom-up and top-down methane estimates.
- Design and support methane mitigation and abatement programs, including source identification, prioritisation, and performance tracking.
- Advise clients on improving emissions data quality, assurance readiness, and alignment with international frameworks (OGMP 2.0, GHG Protocol, IPCC).
- Translate complex technical emissions data into clear, actionable insights for technical and executive stakeholders.
- Provide technical review and quality assurance across deliverables to ensure analytical rigour and consistency.
- Work closely with Envana’s software platform to integrate consulting insights into emissions measurement, reporting, and analytics tools.
- Support proposal development and client pitches related to methane management, OGMP 2.0, and emissions strategy.
- Build trusted relationships with regional operators, consultants, and partners across South America.
- Identify emerging opportunities related to methane regulation, voluntary initiatives, and performance-based reporting.
- Contribute to Envana’s growth strategy in South America by helping position the firm as a trusted partner in methane and emissions management.
- Contribute to internal knowledge development around methane quantification, OGMP 2.0 implementation, and MRV best practices.
- Contribute to thought leadership (presentations, technical notes, webinars) related to methane management and data-driven decarbonisation.
Qualifications & Experience
- 6–10 years of experience in GHG accounting, methane quantification, MRV, or oil & gas sustainability consulting.
- Demonstrated experience with OGMP 2.0, methane inventories, emissions validation, or related reporting frameworks.
- Strong understanding of GHG Protocol, IPCC methodologies, and measurement-based emissions approaches.
- Experience working with upstream oil & gas, LNG, or energy-sector clients.
- Proven ability to lead or significantly contribute to client engagements in a consulting or advisory environment.
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
