What to Expect (Job Responsibilities)
- Manage environmental, siting, planning, and permitting for energy projects
- Direct and oversee energy facility siting/routing, permitting, and environmental field surveys
- Prepare resource studies and permit applications for energy project permitting
- Represent clients before regulatory and land management agencies and public meetings
- Mentor junior staff and oversee project budgets and forecasts
What is Required (Qualifications)
- Bachelor’s degree in an environmental program (Biology, Ecology, Environmental Science) with a minimum of 15 years of relevant experience; Master’s degree preferred
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and coordinate effectively within a team
- Proficiency in researching and interpreting federal, state, and local regulations
- Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Valid driver’s license in good standing and ability to pass a DMV check
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications)
- 15 to 20+ years of directly applicable work experience in energy projects
- Established client relationships and proven track record in the energy market
- Experience working with agencies like the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects with multiple components
- Familiarity with environmental, regulatory, and land use agencies
