About the Opportunity

We are seeking a Engineer to join our high-performing engineering team, focused on building highly available, large-scale, and low-latency data platforms. This role is ideal for a hands-on, experienced engineer who can immediately contribute to solving complex challenges, driving technical excellence, and enhancing our DevOps and backend infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain highly available and scalable backend systems and APIs.
• Lead and own DevOps initiatives, including CI/CD pipeline management, cloud infrastructure, and container orchestration.
• Implement and maintain infrastructure as code using Terraform, ensuring secure, reproducible, and automated deployments.
• Work closely with stakeholders, product owners, and cross-functional teams to deliver new features and improve existing systems.
• Ensure disaster recovery readiness and compliance with security best practices.
• Manage and optimize AWS services (S3, RDS, EventBridge, SQS, IAM, VPC, ECR, etc.).
• Deploy and manage Kubernetes (EKS) clusters and Docker images in production environments.
• Troubleshoot complex issues across distributed systems and drive root cause analysis.
• Maintain high standards of code quality, testing, and documentation.
• Collaborate across engineering teams (Platform, Security, UX) to ensure seamless integration and delivery.

Required Qualifications

• Professional experience in functional programming, with Node.js / JavaScript.
• Proven experience with DevOps practices and cloud-native environments.
• Deep hands-on experience with Kubernetes (EKS) and Docker.
• Expertise with AWS (S3, RDS, EventBridge, SQS, DMS, Security Groups, IAM, VPCs, ECR).
• Strong proficiency in SQL and experience with relational databases (MSSQL, PostgreSQL, MySQL, Aurora, RDS).
• Professional experience with Terraform (infrastructure as code).
• Solid understanding of application security and use of security tools (e.g., Wiz, Snyk).
• Strong debugging, issue resolution, and troubleshooting skills.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively in an agile environment.
• Pragmatic mindset with a strong sense of ownership and craftsmanship.
• English proficiency for professional communication.

Nice to Have Skills

• Experience with automated database migrations and versioning.
• Background in API integration and distribution systems.
• Familiarity with monitoring and observability tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana).
• Exposure to multi-region cloud deployments.
• Previous experience supporting regulated industries or compliance-driven environments.
• Passion for mentoring team members and driving engineering best practices.
