Challenge

We’re looking for a PL/SQL Software Engineer to help develop new features and modernize existing capabilities across a large-scale HRIS SaaS platform.

You’ll be working with complex business rules, distributed teams, and a robust Oracle database architecture — ensuring high performance, correctness, and scalability. This role requires strong PL/SQL expertise, a shift-left mindset, and daily use of AI-assisted development tools.

Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and maintain new features across HRIS modules (Payroll, Benefits, Time & Attendance, CoreHR).
  • Modernize existing features in a multi-tenant cloud SaaS environment.
  • Write high-performance Oracle PL/SQL code, following best practices for maintainability and scalability.
  • Optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, and data operations for large datasets and high transaction volumes.
  • Take ownership of validating your work through shift-left testing—including unit, integration, and regression tests.
  • Leverage AI tools (GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, etc.) to speed up development, refactoring, and documentation.
  • Collaborate with a distributed, agile engineering team across multiple time zones.
  • Participate in code reviews, architecture discussions, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Mandatory Skills
  • Strong hands-on experience with Oracle PL/SQL.
  • Solid understanding of Oracle RDBMS, including performance tuning, indexing strategies, triggers, and execution plans.
  • Experience working in SaaS or transactional systems with complex business logic.
  • Ability to design efficient data structures, functions, and stored procedures.
  • Familiarity with shift-left development: writing tests, validating logic, ensuring correctness.
  • Experience using AI development tools to accelerate coding and improve code quality.
  • Strong communication skills in English (written and verbal).
  • Experience collaborating within distributed, agile teams.
Nice to Have
  • Experience with the HR industry.
  • Exposure to modernization or legacy-to-cloud transformation projects.
  • Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and automated testing frameworks.
