About the Role

We’re looking for a Backend Engineer (mid-level) to join our growing engineering team. You’ll help design and build the infrastructure that powers our AI agents, voice pipelines, and integrations with external APIs and customer CRMs. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced startup, enjoys end-to-end ownership, and wants their work to directly impact customer growth.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain backend services that support Atlas’ AI voice and ad agents.
• Work with cloud-native tools (serverless functions, queues, storage, etc.) to ensure scalable, reliable systems.
• Develop and manage APIs that integrate Atlas with third-party CRMs, ad platforms, and communication tools.
• Ensure data security, authentication, and compliance across all systems.
• Collaborate with product, AI, and frontend teams to deliver features quickly and iteratively.
• Monitor and optimize system performance for speed, reliability, and cost efficiency.

Experience

• 4–7 years in backend development (Node.js, C#, or Python preferred).
• Strong understanding of APIs, microservices, and event-driven architectures.
• Hands-on experience with at least one major cloud platform (Azure preferred).
• Database experience (SQL + NoSQL).
• Comfortable working with queues, messaging systems, and distributed architectures.
• Strong problem-solving skills and a bias toward action in dynamic environments.

Nice to Have

• Experience with API gateways or API management (APIM).
• Familiarity with authentication providers (Auth0).
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, and monitoring tools.
• Background in high-availability systems, call flows, or real-time communications.
• Agile startup experience where you’ve shipped quickly and iterated fast.
