The Role
We’re hiring a Paid Media Video Editor & Performance Creative whose primary focus is creating ads that convert. Your job is to take raw footage (UGC, influencer clips, product videos, internal shoots) and turn it into scroll‑stopping, conversion‑focused video ads for TikTok, Instagram, Meta, and Facebook. We don’t need cinematic edits. We need persuasive, clear, high‑performing ad creatives that make people click “Buy.” This role may be structured as part‑time or full‑time, depending on your impact and output capacity. Work hours are flexible, but you must be available for collaboration, feedback cycles, and deadlines during core U.S. Eastern Time windows.
What You’ll Do
- Paid Ad Content (Primary Focus)
- Create vertical video ads for TikTok, Instagram, Meta & Facebook.
- Develop multiple hook variations, angles, and pacing structures.
- Edit videos using a clear problem ? solution ? outcome framework.
- Optimize for CTR, thumb‑stop rate, retention, and conversion intent.
- Build high‑performing UGC‑style and influencer‑style ads.
- Repurpose and remix clips into new testable variations.
- Select the most compelling seconds from longer footage.
- Apply strong, readable on‑screen copy that drives action.
- Speed, Testing & Execution
- Work fast and prioritize execution over perfection.
- Produce multiple variations within short timelines.
- Implement feedback quickly so ads can launch and scale.
- Maintain strong organization, deadlines, and accountability.
- Operate with a testing mindset—constant iteration and learning.
- Supporting & UGC / Organic Content (Secondary)
- Edit short‑form product + site videos to improve CVR.
- Turn influencer + internal footage into organic‑style content.
- Support TikTok, IG Reels, and Shorts when needed.
- Add captions, transitions, sound, and branded elements.
- Collaborate with the Social Media Manager on trends and direction.
- Continuously analyze performance and refine creative.
- Stay highly organized across assets and projects; maintain structured Google Drive folders and build clear creative playbooks and SOPs.
- Creative Brief Creation
- Responsible for creating clear creative briefs and request docs.
- Propose ideas for the types of content, clips, angles, and shots needed from the founder, internal team, or UGC creators to produce stronger, higher‑converting ad creatives.
- Platform & Trend Awareness
- Stay current with TikTok, Meta, and UGC ad trends.
- Understand behavior and performance patterns across platforms.
- Track cultural & viral hooks relevant to U.S. audiences.
- Bring trend‑aware concepts that sell, not just trend‑match.
What We’re Looking For
- Experience editing paid ads or high‑performing short‑form content.
- Strong understanding of hooks, pacing, retention, and storytelling.
- Ability to create UGC‑style ads that feel authentic but convert.
- KPI‑driven mindset—care about results, not just visuals.
- Organized, proactive, and comfortable with fast iteration.
- Comfortable receiving and giving direct performance feedback.
- Ability to produce consistent high‑volume creative output.
Must‑Have Skills
- Experience with Adobe Premiere, After Effects, CapCut, or similar tools.
- Proven ability to structure short‑form content for conversion.
- Ability to identify and extract the strongest moments from raw clips.
- Experience writing or applying strong on‑screen copy & messaging.
- Understanding of how creative impacts CTR, ROAS, and performance.
- Ability to suggest framing, pacing, or direction improvements when needed.
- Motion graphics experience is a plus.
