What to Expect (Job Responsibilities)

• Review and audit patient charts to assign appropriate CPT, HCPCS, or ICD 10-CM codes for services performed
• Ensure compliance with coding guidelines and standards of ethical coding
• Utilize query and clarification processes to maintain consistency between documentation, charges, and assigned codes
• Provide coding services for care provided in various settings, including clinics and hospitals
• Occasionally travel to employer facilities as required

What is Required (Qualifications)

• Minimum of 1 year of experience in a healthcare facility, health care business office, or equivalent education
• Prior experience as an Infusion Coder
• Required certification: Certified Professional Coder (CPC), CPC-A, Certified Coding Associate (CCA), Certified Outpatient Coder (COC), Certified Coding Specialist (CCS), or Certified Coding Specialist-Physician Based (CCS-P)
• Alternatively, Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) or Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) certification is acceptable
• Must reside in WI, IA, or MN
