About You

You are a Cloud Architect who enjoys owning architectural decisions and designing secure, scalable, and compliant cloud solutions. You thrive in regulated environments and are comfortable balancing hands-on technical work with strategic thinking. You’re motivated by building robust AWS architectures that meet strict security and compliance requirements—especially in healthcare-related contexts—and by collaborating closely with engineering, security, and compliance teams to deliver reliable cloud platforms.

You Bring to Applaudo the Following Competencies:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• Strong professional experience as a Cloud Architect on AWS, owning end-to-end architectural decisions.
• Hands-on experience with AWS services, including Lightsail.
• Experience working with cPanel-based environments hosted on AWS.
• Solid knowledge of HIPAA compliance and proven experience designing and maintaining HIPAA-compliant cloud architectures on AWS.
• Strong understanding of cloud security best practices, including identity and access management, encryption, network security, and data protection.
• Experience implementing and reviewing security controls aligned with regulatory and compliance requirements.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with engineering, security, and compliance teams.
• Strong documentation skills for architecture designs, decisions, and compliance considerations.
• Comfortable providing technical guidance and architectural leadership across teams.
• Excellent English communication skills for working with US-based stakeholders.

You Will Be Accountable for the Following Responsibilities:

• Design and implement secure, scalable, and compliant AWS cloud architectures.
• Build, maintain, and evolve HIPAA-compliant architectures, following AWS best practices and approved services.
• Collaborate with engineering, security, and compliance teams to ensure solutions meet regulatory and technical standards.
• Define and enforce security controls, including encryption, access management, and network protections.
• Review and optimize existing AWS environments for performance, reliability, security, and cost-efficiency.
• Document cloud architectures, technical decisions, and compliance-related considerations clearly and consistently.
• Provide architectural leadership and technical guidance to development and infrastructure teams.
• Support continuous improvement of cloud standards, patterns, and best practices across the organization.
