What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
  • Collaborate with local management to strategize and implement project pursuits and delivery efforts
  • Supervise and guide staff to facilitate smooth design and plan development processes
  • Engage in the design phases of roadways, highways, and interstates, overseeing projects from preliminary to final design stages
  • Build and nurture relationships with both external and internal clients
  • Create plans, specifications, reports, and cost estimates in accordance with project requirements
What is Required (Qualifications):
  • Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering or higher
  • 10+ years of progressive experience designing and delivering Illinois transportation projects
  • Licensed Project Engineer (P.E.) in the state of Illinois
  • Experience as project manager or lead roadway engineer on IDOT projects
  • Proficient at using MicroStation and/or Inroads (Open Roads Designer)
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
  • Experience working with clients such as State and County Departments of Transportation and municipalities
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
