DESCRIPTION

We are looking for a dynamic, results-oriented Area Manager to lead Outbound operations (collection, packaging, and shipping) in our distribution center.

This role directly manages associates and requires a balance between strategic thinking, operational execution, and people leadership.

This position will operate in a distribution center environment with exposure to varying temperatures depending on the season and location.

Must be available to accommodate flexible layover needs, including night shifts and weekend rotations.

Key job responsibilities
  • Lead, develop, and manage a team of associates across multiple shifts
  • Drive operational excellence through the management of KPIs, including productivity, quality, and safety metrics
  • Implement and maintain standardized work processes to ensure consistent performance
  • Conduct daily shift meetings and communicate business updates to the team
  • Manage workforce planning and staffing to meet business demands
  • Lead problem solving initiatives using Lean / Six Sigma methodologies
  • Ensure compliance with safety protocols and workplace standards
  • Train and develop first-level associates and supervisors
  • Collaborate with support teams (HR, Safety, Training) to drive continuous improvement
  • Manage performance through data analysis and actionable insights

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent, or 2+ years of Amazon (blue badge / FTE) experience
  • Work a flexible schedule / shift / work area, including weekends, nights, and / or holidays
  • Can push and pull wheeled dollies loaded with products up to 100 pounds during shifts
  • Speak, write, and read fluently in English
  • Employee and performance management experience
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Knowledge of Kaizen and Lean methodology techniques
