About the Role
We’re seeking a detail-oriented and cost-conscious Purchasing / Sourcing Specialist to manage and optimize supplier relationships for our Amazon private-label and marketplace operations.
You’ll lead sourcing and negotiations with manufacturers, build landed cost models, and oversee end-to-end execution across samples, purchase orders, and logistics. The ideal candidate combines strong analytical skills with operational rigor — ensuring smooth, margin-focused supply chain performance from factory to FBA / 3PL.
Key Responsibilities
- Source, vet, and onboard manufacturers; run RFQs and negotiate pricing, MOQs, lead times, and payment terms.
- Build and maintain accurate landed cost models, factoring in duties, freight, and FBA fees to achieve margin targets.
- Coordinate product samples, specifications, labeling, packaging, and compliance with Amazon and category standards.
- Create and track POs from production through delivery; ensure on-time, in-full (OTIF) supplier and carrier performance.
- Monitor vendor performance (cost, quality, lead time, defect rate) and lead corrective actions as needed.
- Conduct supplier audits and risk assessments (geopolitical, compliance, capacity).
- Identify and execute cost-saving initiatives through negotiation, packaging optimization, or alternate sourcing.
- Drive continuous improvement in sourcing processes and supplier performance.
Requirements
- 3+ years in purchasing, sourcing, or supply chain management, ideally within Amazon FBA or e-commerce.
- Proven experience negotiating with overseas factories (pricing, MOQs, payment terms).
- Strong understanding of landed cost analysis, margins, and Amazon’s fee structures.
- Knowledge of quality control checkpoints and product compliance.
- Advanced Excel or Google Sheets skills; experience with PO or ERP systems preferred.
- Highly organized, with strong documentation and multi-SKU project management ability.
- Proactive, analytical, and comfortable working autonomously in a fast-paced, remote environment.
Nice to Have
- Familiarity with Helium 10, Keepa, or other sourcing / market analysis tools.
- Experience with EDI, inventory planning, or demand forecasting.
- Exposure to regulated product categories or Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) analysis.
