Job summary

A leading healthcare facility in Dubai is seeking a skilled Phlebotomist to serve patients by identifying the best methods for specimen retrieval and ensuring proper laboratory testing. The ideal candidate will hold a Diploma in Medical Laboratory or Phlebotomy, be DHA certified, and possess at least one year of experience. Responsibilities include performing venepunctures, maintaining specimen integrity, and adhering to hospital policies and standards. Proficiency in English is required. This role contributes significantly to patient care and laboratory efficiency.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of one year of experience as a Phlebotomist.
  • Knowledge of legal requirements for drawing blood and handling specimen samples.
  • Skills in dexterity and hand-eye coordination.

Responsibilities

  • Verifies test requisitions and discrepancies with laboratory information.
  • Obtains blood specimens through venepunctures and fingersticks.
  • Prepares specimens for transportation and maintains integrity.

Skills

Knowledge of proper patient identification methods
Skills in effective puncture techniques
Knowledge of testing protocols
Ability to speak and write English fluently

Education

Diploma in Medical Laboratory or Phlebotomy
Completion of an approved certified phlebotomy program
Certificate in Health Science (minimum of one year course duration)
Dubai Health Authority (DHA) certified Phlebotomist
