Job description
Job Purpose

To manage and control the day‑to‑day execution of maintenance activities within the workshop, ensuring that work is carried out as per schedule, in compliance with regulatory and quality standards. The Production Controller ensures accurate documentation, proper coordination with technicians, and smooth workflow through all stages of component or engine maintenance.

Key Result Responsibilities
  • Oversee daily execution of assigned workshop maintenance tasks and ensure alignment with the plan provided by the Workshop Planning Engineer.
  • Monitor task progress in real time and support technicians in resolving minor technical or process‑related issues.
  • Ensure all job cards are correctly filled, signed, and closed in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Coordinate the routing of components through various workstations (e.g., teardown, cleaning, inspection, repair, assembly, testing), including outsourced work.
  • Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with approved documentation (CMMs, SBs, EO/EOs).
Key Result Responsibilities - Continued
  • Liaise with Logistics and Stores to verify availability and issue of required parts, tools, and consumables.
  • Update AMOS with WIP status and assist with generating component release documentation.
  • Flag any issues affecting work progression to the Workshop Supervisor or Planning Engineer (e.g., material shortages, tooling delays).
  • Support internal and external audits by ensuring traceability and completeness of maintenance records.
Qualifications (Academic, training, languages)
  • Bachelor’s degree in Aircraft Engineering/Aeronautical/Electro‑Mechanical or equivalent; alternately a higher diploma or certificate relating from a recognized university or engineering college.
  • Good understanding of TAT drivers and workflow bottlenecks.
  • Familiar with regulatory requirements (e.g., EASA Part‑145, GCAA CAR 145, FAA 145).
  • Strong knowledge of shop‑level maintenance practices and relevant documentation (e.g., CMMs, SBs, EOs).
  • Proficient with maintenance management systems such as AMOS, TRAX, or similar. AMOS‑preferred.
  • Proactive in resolving on‑floor issues and escalating when needed.
Work Experience
  • 3+ years of experience in component workshop or aircraft maintenance production control, planning, or records within an airline or MRO environment.
