The Treasury Accountant ensures accurate cash management by executing daily reconciliations, processing payments, and monitoring bank transactions. They assist in financial reporting, forecasting, and investment activities, ensuring compliance with BEYOND policies and official regulatory requirements. By collaborating with internal teams and external partners, they optimise liquidity, support treasury operations, and manage financial risks.
Day-to-Day Tasks
- Execute daily cash reconciliations to ensure that cash positions are accurate and that discrepancies are promptly addressed.
- Implement the processing of payments and receipts, ensuring accurate and timely recording in the accounting system.
- Monitor bank accounts regularly, ensuring that all transactions are recorded and balanced accurately, and discrepancies are resolved in a timely manner.
- Coordinate with internal teams to process treasury transactions, including transfers, foreign exchange, and investment purchases.
- Assist in preparing and submitting reports on cash positions, including weekly and monthly summaries, for review by senior management.
- Contribute to the preparation of financial forecasts and budgets, ensuring accurate reflection of cash flow projections and working capital needs.
- Execute the processing of short-term investments, ensuring compliance with company policies and objectives for risk and return.
- Collaborate with external banking partners to facilitate the efficient execution of financial transactions and optimize cash management practices.
- Check all treasury-related documents, including bank statements, loan agreements, and investment contracts, for accuracy and compliance.
- Support in managing treasury systems and software to ensure accurate data entry, report generation, and effective tracking of cash positions.
- Assist in reviewing and ensuring the proper allocation of funds to designated accounts, including escrow accounts and operating accounts.
- Monitor treasury activities to ensure adherence to company financial policies, regulatory requirements, and internal controls.
- Coordinate with the finance and legal teams to ensure that all financial agreements and transactions are executed accurately and in compliance with legal requirements.
- Execute the documentation and reporting of foreign exchange transactions, including hedging strategies and currency positions, to minimize financial risk.
- Assist in managing short-term borrowing and investment activity, ensuring liquidity requirements are met and that interest expenses are minimized.
- Contribute to the preparation of detailed reports on debt management, providing insights into outstanding liabilities, payment schedules, and interest obligations.
- Coordinate the implementation of any necessary adjustments to cash management strategies based on changes in the financial market or company needs.
- Implement strategies for optimizing working capital, including efficient management of receivables, payables, and inventory to improve liquidity.
- Support in preparing and filing treasury reports in accordance with the company’s internal and external reporting requirements.
- Execute the accurate and timely settlement of financial transactions, including payments to suppliers, contractors, and other stakeholders.
- Assist in resolving any discrepancies or issues related to treasury functions, including liaising with banks or internal departments to ensure quick resolution.
- Assist in achieving optimal liquidity management by monitoring cash flow, forecasting financial needs, and ensuring BEYOND has the necessary funds available to meet its obligations.
Skills & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field. A master’s degree or relevant certification (e.g., CFA, CTP) is preferred.
- 3-5 years of experience as a Treasury accountant or in financial management, preferably in the real estate development industry.
- Strong understanding of cash management, financial risk management, and banking operations.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship management skills.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess financial data and provide actionable insights.
- Proficiency in treasury management systems and financial modelling, Knowledge of UAE financial regulations and compliance requirements.
