A leading healthcare provider is seeking a dedicated Pharmacy Assistant to support pharmacists by preparing prescriptions and maintaining pharmacy records. Job description

Responsible to assist the Pharmacist by filling Physician’s orders for medications, type labels, and perform other related duties.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare prescriptions for dispensing and assist the pharmacists.
  • Follow established departmental policies, procedures and objectives continuous quality improvement objectives and ensure pharmacy staff compliance.
  • Follow MOH rules and regulations.
  • Ensure the contractual regulations with the Insurance/other companies are practiced.
  • Maintain all kinds of Pharmacy Records.
  • Reporting to the Pharmacist on a daily basis regarding shortage of medicine.
  • Monitor the nearing expiry/expired item in order to dispose them according to the policy.
  • Maintain the storage of medicines according to its category.
  • Counts, measures and weigh medicines. Fills bottles’ labels under the supervision of the Pharmacist and according to agreed Procedures.
  • Performs all aspects of patient care in an environment that optimizes patient safety and reduces the likelihood of medical/health care errors.
  • Maintain the computerized system to monitor and update the stock level in the assigned area.
  • Ensure prescriptions, approvals, information of patients are right and ready before they reach the pharmacist.
  • Exemplify the company’s vision, mission and values.
  • Respect patient’s right to confidentiality.
  • Help ensure customer requirements or expectations are met through the effective use of communication or feedback channels in accordance to company policy and procedures.
  • Personally, accept responsibility for client service.
  • Effectively handle or appropriately respond to stressful situations.
  • Understand and work according to corporate policies and procedures.
Qualifications

Bachelor of Pharmacy

  • Must have basic understanding of oral and written English.
  • Must have communication skills adequate to communicate effectively with patients, co-workers, and supervisors.
  • Knowledge of Insurance and co-payment framework.
