About The Role

Grade Level for internal use: 10

The Global Insight (GI) group within S&P Global Market Intelligence division supports clients across all government and private sectors with data and research on macroeconomics, markets, trade, supply chains, geopolitics, and operational risk. GI's services consist of subscriptions to data, analysis products, and consulting. This role is in the consulting team. The team designs and delivers custom analytical solutions for client requirements that are not met by subscription products. These custom solutions typically integrate datasets, deploy specialized models, and/or develop new approaches to deliver unique insights to support clients in their strategic decisions. Our team leverages a breadth of data, research, expertise, and models to solve client problems and support planning and decision-making. These proprietary assets are the result of decades of development and proven value. Our team members work across functions including analysis and modeling, solution design, project management, and technical development, coordinating with diverse subject matter experts. The Team

The GI group supports clients across government and private sector needs by delivering data, research, and custom analytical solutions. The consulting team designs and delivers solutions that go beyond subscription products, integrating datasets, deploying models, and developing new approaches to deliver insights for strategic decisions.

Responsibilities And Impact

• Support econometric modeling and forecasting, including data gathering, cleaning, and validation.
• Undertake desk-based research on topics such as policy and regulatory developments, political and security dynamics, and stakeholder mapping around new projects and investments.
• Identify and qualify external data needs and integrate these into data and models (including trade model experience like gravity analysis).
• Lead analysis and reporting of insights, providing technical support tailored to client needs and expectations.
• Collaborate with senior colleagues to design technical approaches to client problems and communicate these clearly.
• Present project findings, capabilities, and methodologies to senior personnel, including government ministers and C-suite executives.
• Provide project management support, ensuring deliverables are correctly sequenced and executed.

What We’re Looking For

• Basic Required Qualifications
  • Masters-level education in Economics, Econometrics, Statistics, or related fields.
  • Understanding of macroeconomics, microeconomics, international trade and investment, commerce, and geopolitics.
  • Minimum of four years experience on economic modeling and/or large datasets for delivering client insights.
  • Competency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and familiarity with statistical analysis programs (Eviews; ideally R, Stata, Python is useful).
  • Efficient use of internal AI agents for research.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, ability to build relationships with diverse stakeholders, intellectual curiosity, collaboration, and resilience.
  • Self-organized with ability to prioritize to meet competing deadlines.
  • Fluent Arabic preferred, not essential.
• Additional Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in international trade and investment strategies.
  • Familiarity with geopolitical analysis and operational risk assessment.
  • Strong coding and data skills to drive efficiency in business processes.
  • Experience in project management and client-relationship management.
  • Open to working across time zones and nurturing client relationships globally.
