Job summary

A leading telecommunications service provider is seeking an experienced professional to oversee the daily activities of telecom technicians and manage the installation and maintenance of telecommunication equipment. The ideal candidate should have a Bachelor's degree in Electronics or Telecommunications, with 5-10 years of experience in the Oil & Gas sector. Strong knowledge of telecommunication system architecture and excellent English language skills are essential for this role. Knowledge of Arabic is advantageous.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 5-10 years of relevant experience in telecommunication systems.
  • Experience in the Oil & Gas EPC or related industrial sectors preferred.
  • Knowledge of international telecom standards and codes.

  • Oversee daily activities of telecom technicians and subcontractors.

Job description
Key Responsibilities
  • Supervision & Coordination: Oversee the daily activities of telecom technicians and subcontractors ensuring all work is performed according to project plans and quality standards.
  • System Installation & Maintenance: Manage the installation testing and ongoing maintenance of telecommunication equipment including fiber optic cables, CCTV networking, PAGA systems and radio systems.
  • Compliance: Ensure all telecommunication works comply with the highest international and client-specific safety and quality standards particularly in hazardous environments.
  • Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve technical issues that may arise during the installation or maintenance phases of the telecommunication infrastructure.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate project documentation drawings and reports and coordinate with drafting and planning teams to ensure timely deliverables.
  • Material & Feasibility: Support the availability of necessary materials and ensure the technical feasibility of proposed solutions by reviewing designs and specifications.
Key Qualifications
  • Education: A Bachelors degree or a Diploma in Electronics Telecommunications or a related engineering discipline.
  • Experience: A minimum of 5-10 years of relevant experience in telecommunication systems within the Oil & Gas EPC or related industrial sectors with specific experience in the hydrocarbon or dredging industry preferred.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Strong understanding of telecommunication system architecture and field implementation.
    • Expertise in Fiber Optic Cable (FOC) installation and maintenance.
    • Familiarity with CCTV networking and Public Address/General Alarm (PAGA) systems.
    • Proficiency in MS Office AutoCAD markups and relevant project management software.
  • Certifications: Knowledge of international telecom standards and codes is beneficial.
  • Language Skills: Excellent written and spoken English is essential with Arabic often considered an advantage.
