Overview
We are seeking a well-organized and detail-oriented Storekeeper to manage and maintain inventory for a steel chamber, generator enclosure, and shelter manufacturing company. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of materials such as steel, GI, PPGI, MS, AC units, distribution boards (DB), electrical components, welding materials, cables, and other related items. This role ensures efficient handling, storage, and dispatch of materials, maintaining accurate records and ensuring timely availability for production.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive, inspect, and verify the quality and quantity of incoming materials and supplies.
- Maintain proper storage conditions and organize materials systematically.
- Issue materials to production teams based on approved requisitions.
- Keep accurate and up-to-date records of inventory transactions.
- Conduct regular stock checks and inventory audits.
- Ensure proper handling of materials to prevent damage or loss.
- Monitor stock levels and prepare purchase requests for replenishment.
- Coordinate with the procurement department for timely delivery of materials.
- Maintain safety standards and cleanliness in the storage area.
- Track and manage tools, machinery, and returnable items.
- Prepare and submit inventory reports and material consumption analysis.
Required Knowledge & Skills
- Strong knowledge of materials used in furnished shelters, generator enclosures, cabinets, and steel diesel tank manufacturing, including steel, GI, PPGI, MS, AC units, DBs, electrical items, welding materials, and cables.
- Familiarity with material handling and storage procedures.
- Proficiency in inventory management software and MS Office (Excel, Word).
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
Qualifications
- Higher secondary diploma or equivalent; a degree or certification in storekeeping, supply chain management, or a related field is a plus.
- Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in a similar role within a manufacturing environment.
Working Conditions
- Physical demands include standing, walking, and lifting heavy items.
- Work is performed in a warehouse or storage environment.
