Job summary

A global engineering firm in Dubai is seeking a Specialist Planner. You will create and maintain project schedules, communicate with stakeholders, and produce progress reports. Candidates should have a Bachelor or Master degree, 5 years of planning experience in construction, and expertise in Primavera P6. Strong communication and Excel skills are essential. This role offers an opportunity to work on complex multidisciplinary projects.

Specialist Planner Job Description
Responsibilities

The Project Planning position creates and maintains project schedules within the Primavera P6 platform for large and multi-disciplinary projects starting from design via engineering manufacturing installation commissioning testing activities till the handover phase. The Project Planner should work with the project team to build or implement changes to the project schedule. The Project Planner should take ownership in driving the teams (Design Manufacturing Procurement Site Installation Commissioning and Test & integration) to provide their detailed respective Schedules/Step Plans of their work that integrate within the project schedule. The Specialist Planner proactively communicates progress and changes to all stakeholders which includes external stakeholders. You will report to project management team and be required to produce monthly project reports.

Your qualifications and skills

If youre an experienced enthusiastic and Analytical project planner you will excel at:

  • Effectively translating the scope of a project into an overall project plan;
  • Identifying the critical path in a project plan and the corresponding opportunities and risks
  • Coordinating a project plan with the customer and subcontractors so that an integrated project plan is achieved;
  • Liaising with all of the internal and external parties involved in a project;
  • Reporting on the progress being made with a project to the relevant project team members (Project Management Team ;
  • Analyzing and giving solicited and unsolicited advice on overall project plans;
  • Preparing complex plans in consultation with project team members subcontractors suppliers customers and stakeholders;
  • Producing two-weekly or monthly project progress reports in line with customer requirements and under guidance of the Quantity surveyor and Contract manager.
  • Experience with earned value management and resource loading.
  • If required promptly delivering a detailed plan to internal stakeholders;
  • Producing what-if analyses and alternative project plans;
  • Training other Planners;
  • Preparing improvement proposals in relation to a project plan.
You should have:
  • Bachelor or Master degree or working experience on a bachelor level;
  • Experience of working in a project organization;
  • 5 Years Planning experience in a construction environment.
  • Senior level knowledge of the Primavera planning software
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to liaise at different levels. You have the ability to involve people and to convince them of the importance of sharing and receiving information in order to identify and maintain common project interests;
  • Strong Excel skills;
  • You will have the ability to work under (time) pressure and set priorities appropriately;
  • You will be flexible and creative.
