A leading engineering company in Abu Dhabi is seeking a Specialist Digitalization Engineer to lead the integration of Operational Technology systems with Corporate IT infrastructure. The ideal candidate must have extensive experience in OT/IT integration, particularly in the oil & gas sector. Strong communication skills and a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field are required. This role supports the digital transformation initiatives of the company.

Qualifications

• Minimum 15 years of experience in OT/IT integration, preferably in oil & gas or industrial automation.
• Strong understanding of industrial protocols (Modbus, OPC UA/DA, MQTT, PROFINET).
• Familiarity with IT networking concepts (TCP/IP, VLANs, firewalls, VPNs).

Position Summary

We are seeking a skilled and proactiveDigitalization Engineerto lead the integration of Operational Technology (OT) systems with Corporate IT infrastructure. The ideal candidate will play a key role in enabling secure reliable and scalable data exchange between control systems and enterprise platforms supporting ADNOCs digital transformation initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Familiar with secure OT/IT interfaces for control systems (DCS SCADA PLCs).
• Ensure seamless data flow from field devices to enterprise systems (e.g. PI System ERP cloud).
• Collaborate with cybersecurity teams to enforce network segmentation and compliance with standards (e.g. IEC 62443 NIST).
• Support deployment of digital platforms including historians OPC servers MQTT brokers and edge devices.
• Troubleshoot and resolve OT/IT communication issues.
• Coordinate with I&C IT cybersecurity and operations teams to deliver integrated solutions.
• Manage vendors and system integrators during project execution.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Electrical Electronics Instrumentation Automation or Computer Engineering.
• Minimum 15 years of experience in OT/IT integration preferably in oil & gas or industrial automation.
• Strong understanding of industrial protocols (Modbus OPC UA/DA MQTT PROFINET).
• Experience with control systems (e.g. Honeywell Emerson Siemens ABB).
• Familiarity with IT networking concepts (TCP/IP VLANs firewalls VPNs).
• Knowledge of cybersecurity principles and standards.

Preferred Certifications

• ISA/IEC 62443 Cybersecurity Certificate
• Cisco CCNA/CCNP (Industrial or Security)
• Microsoft Azure IoT or AWS IoT certifications
• PMP or equivalent project management certification (optional)
