Job description

We are Amazon; we pioneer. Since opening our virtual doors 1995 we've been pushing the boundaries of possibility further and further. Our entire business works hard to delight our customers from the second an order is placed online to the seamless coordination of that order behind the scenes we strive to stay agile, fluid and intentional. This can be described in one of our core Leadership Principles which is Bias for Action. This means that our teams band together, roll up their sleeves and aren't content with standing still.

Amazon’s overall mission is simple: to be the place where customers can find, discover and buy anything online. Whatever customers want Amazon will find the means to deliver it. With your help Amazon will continue to enable people to discover new worlds and implement innovation. This is your chance to make history.

The Role

The Continuous Improvements Manager supports, coordinates and facilitates implementation of new and improved structures, processes and activities. Working closely with AMET teams and all levels of management within the Fulfillment Center (FC) you report directly to the Regional Continuous Improvement Manager.

For this role you will need to be adaptable, challenge‑motivated and thrive on implementing high‑standard productivity and simplicity using Kaizen/PDCA methods with experience in Operations and Continuous Improvement. The ideal candidate loves to work on processes directly on the FC shop floor as well as improving them systematically. Curiosity and the confidence to take calculated risks quickly, strong analytical skills and a data‑driven outlook with great communication skills are core characteristics for a Continuous Improvements Manager.

Key job responsibilities
  • Manage the Fulfilment Centre improvement plan to focus on best customer experience at the lowest cost.
  • Develop a culture of continuous improvement and lean thinking.
  • Serve as ACES network representative, validating alignment between site practices and network standards.
  • Contribute to and facilitate Kaizen activities.
  • Help drive the implementation of Lean Standard Work.
  • Train and support all levels in Kaizen activities.
  • Disseminate Lean Standard Work principles across teams.
  • Support and manage the Fulfilment Centre implementation agenda.
  • Coordinate and prioritise LSC process improvement activities and resources.
  • Monitor audits and drive adherence to operational standards – benchmark evaluation, standard work auditing, variation reduction and LSC project validation.
  • Lead daily GEMBA activities, going to the source of the problem working with tenacity to rapidly solve associate‑identified barriers.
  • Standardize processes to Amazon and ECCF benchmark standards.
  • Liaise between FC and AMET/ROW to drive leverage of cross‑CF process excellence.
  • Maintain strong relationships with AMET/ROW Process Owners and FC Process Engineer.
A day in the life

Your day begins with an early morning Gemba walk observing processes and engaging with associates to understand floor challenges. You’ll review previous days’ performance metrics, lead daily operations meetings and drive immediate solutions for any variations. Throughout the day you’ll conduct standard work audits, coach teams on lean methodologies and validate ACES network initiatives implementation. You might facilitate a Kaizen event, analyze performance data or coordinate with regional teams on network‑wide projects. Your role combines strategic thinking with hands‑on execution, ensuring both daily operational excellence and long‑term process improvements.

Your day might conclude with updating project tracking tools, preparing for tomorrow’s priorities and ensuring all critical issues have been addressed or escalated appropriately.

What makes this role exciting is the perfect blend of strategic thinking and hands‑on execution. One day you might be solving immediate operational challenges and the next you could be helping implement network‑wide improvements that will shape the future of our operations.
