Job description

The Site Engineer – Shoring is responsible for planning, supervising, and executing temporary and permanent earth retention and shoring systems at construction sites. The role involves coordinating with design teams, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure timely and safe installation of shoring systems such as soldier piles, sheet piling, secant piles, diaphragm walls, and strut systems.

• Supervise and manage the installation of various shoring systems at site in compliance with engineering drawings and specifications.
• Coordinate with design and structural teams to interpret drawings, resolve technical issues, and implement modifications if required.
• Prepare daily/weekly work schedules, manpower plans, and method statements for shoring and excavation activities.
• Monitor progress against project timeline and ensure timely completion of work within budget and safety standards.
• Ensure shoring systems meet geotechnical and structural requirements related to soil conditions, groundwater, and adjacent structures.
• Conduct inspections, testing, and quality control of materials and workmanship.
• Liaise with clients, consultants, and regulatory bodies to obtain necessary approvals or permits.
• Maintain site documentation including reports, logs, safety checklists, and inspection records.
• Ensure compliance with HSE (Health, Safety & Environment) standards and implement corrective actions for unsafe practices.
• Collaborate with crane/lifting teams, dewatering teams, and excavation contractors to coordinate sequence of activities.
• Support in BOQ preparation, material requisitions, and procurement coordination related to shoring works.
