Job Description:

A leading commodity trading firm in Dubai is seeking an experienced Petrochemicals Operator to oversee end-to-end trading operations for petrochemical products. This role is critical in ensuring seamless execution of commodity trades, logistics coordination, contract management, and operational compliance.

The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in petrochemical operations, logistics, shipping documentation, and trade execution, ensuring that transactions run smoothly and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

Trade Operations & Execution:

• Oversee the end-to-end execution of petrochemical trades, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Coordinate with traders, suppliers, shipping companies, and counterparties to ensure smooth trade execution.
• Monitor and manage contractual obligations, ensuring compliance with trade terms.
• Ensure proper handling of cargo nominations, vessel scheduling, and logistics coordination.

Shipping, Logistics & Documentation:

• Liaise with freight forwarders, shipping agents, and port authorities for timely shipments.
• Manage LCs (Letters of Credit), shipping documents, and customs clearance procedures.
• Prepare and review BLs (Bills of Lading), invoices, cargo reports, and trade documentation.
• Ensure accurate tracking of vessel movements, demurrage claims, and operational risks.

Risk & Compliance Management:

• Ensure compliance with UAE, international trade laws, and petrochemical regulations.
• Monitor market risks, trade finance risks, and operational challenges to mitigate exposure.
• Maintain up-to-date records for trade finance, hedging, and risk assessments.
• Work closely with the legal and compliance teams to align trade operations with regulations.

Inventory & Supply Chain Coordination:

• Manage stock levels, storage, and delivery schedules to ensure smooth trading operations.
• Work with warehouses, terminals, and supply chain partners for efficient inventory management.
• Optimize supply chain processes to reduce costs and enhance efficiency.

Candidate Requirements:

Experience:

• Minimum 3-5 years of experience in petrochemical operations, commodity trading, or shipping logistics.
• Strong background in trade execution, contract management, and logistics coordination.
• Experience in managing LCs, vessel nominations, and port operations.
• Knowledge of international petrochemical trade flows, pricing, and risk mitigation strategies.

Education & Certification:

• Bachelors degree in Business, International Trade, Supply Chain, or a related field Required.
• Certification in Trade Finance, Commodity Trading, or Shipping & Logistics is a plus.
• Strong understanding of commodity trading, trade finance, and risk management.
• Proficiency in trading software, ERP systems, and trade management platforms.
• Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Ability to manage high-pressure trade environments with multiple stakeholders.
• Strong communication and negotiation skills to handle counterparties and suppliers.
