The Opportunity

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Senior Technical Consultant to join our team. In this role you will prepare and deliver training courses in classroom or on site and follow up post‑training day activities (e.g., course feedback collection, arrangement of facilities and equipment, possible corrective action on course material and equipment). You will ensure safe working conditions for training course participants in accordance with Hitachi Energy safety instructions and regulations.

How You'll Make an Impact
  • Developing course material for classroom and on‑site training in own area of responsibility and advising on updates needed in e‑learning material.
  • Creating and updating course descriptions and program outlines.
  • Taking into consideration feedback given on courses and implementing corrective action when needed. Sharing own expertise in service development.
  • Keeping in close contact with technical Product Management, Project Management, Engineering, Sales and other stakeholder groups that support implementation of training course development and delivery.
  • Supporting course administration in making course arrangements and in answering course enquiries and proposals for training courses.
  • Supporting Field Service and other teams/units when necessary by using your own expertise in technical support tasks and roles.
  • Providing technical support for customers of Hitachi Energy for any escalations or queries related to MiCro SCADA and RTU family products. Coordinating resolution with After‑Sales Service and/or Spare Parts teams.
  • Working on day‑to‑day tickets, following up with clients, providing feedback and seeing problems through to resolution.
  • Providing on‑call off‑hours support as required.
  • Replicating the issues reported by customers in the lab environment and working with the R&D team to identify the root cause and fix the issue.
  • Contributing to the knowledge base by creating KB articles and FAQs.
  • Providing technical support and guidance to the sales team for offer preparation.
  • Actively participating in training and improving product and process knowledge.
  • Understanding the SLAs and working in alignment with style of working towards meeting them.

Your Background
  • A bachelor's degree in Electronics and Communications with 8‑15 years of experience.
  • Relevant work experience on Micro SCADA family products—SYS600, SYS600C, Historian, SDM600, DMS600 and RTU family (RTU560, RTU530, etc.).
  • Customer support experience with Micro SCADA and RTU family products, preferably as a technical support engineer/Commissioning Engineer.
  • Exposure to SYS600 engineering tools (View Builder and Display Builder) and RTU PLC logics.
  • Good understanding of communication protocols (IEC61850, IEC101, IEC104, Modbus).
  • Exposure to XML SCIL coding.
  • Good understanding of Windows, SQL and patch updates.
  • Proficiency in both spoken & written English is required.
