The ideal candidate will have over 12 years of relevant experience and a bachelor's degree in a related field. Qualifications

  • Minimum 12 years related experience.
  • Experience in construction of large civil/structural and/or industrial projects.
  • Estidama Pearl Qualified Professional (PQP) or equivalent.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the project adheres to the Pearl Building Rating System (PBRS).
  • Collaborate with various stakeholders to integrate sustainable practices.
  • Conduct energy modeling and water efficiency calculations.

Skills

Excellent written and oral communication skills
Familiarity with CAD and PC software
Knowledge of local regulations

Job Description

Senior Sustainability Engineer
Abu Dhabi, UAE

What You\'ll Be Doing
  • Ensure the project adheres to the Pearl Building Rating System (PBRS).

  • Collaborate with different stakeholders, such as architects, designers, consultants, suppliers, and contractors to integrate sustainable practices into project delivery process.

  • Ensure the use of energy-efficient systems, water-saving technologies, and environmentally friendly materials in compliance with Estidama requirements.

  • Prepare and submit the required documentation to the authorities for Estidama certification.

  • Maintain detailed records of sustainability measures, calculations, and compliance reports.

  • Conduct energy modeling and water efficiency calculations to meet Estidama standards.

  • Ensure the project incorporates renewable energy sources and water recycling systems where applicable.

  • Oversee the implementation of sustainability measures during construction.

  • Conduct site inspections to ensure compliance with Estidama requirements, such as waste management, material sourcing, and air quality control.

  • Act as the point of contact between the project team and regulatory authorities for sustainability-related matters.

  • Provide training and awareness sessions for contractors and workers on sustainable construction practices.

  • Ensure the project meets the operational sustainability requirements, such as commissioning of systems, indoor environmental quality, and handover documentation.

  • Assist in obtaining the final Estidama certification after project completion.

  • Align sustainability measures with health and safety regulations to ensure a safe and sustainable construction environment.

  • Stay updated on changes to Abu Dhabi’s sustainability regulations and best practices.

  • Recommend innovative solutions to improve the project\'s environmental performance.

What You\'ll Bring
  • Bachelors degree in a relevant field such as, Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Architecture, Landscape Architecture, Sustainability or Environmental Science

  • 12 years minimum related experience

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

  • A familarity with CAD and other PC software packages

  • Experience in the construction of large civil/structural and/or industrial projects

  • Estidama Pearl Qualified Professional (PQP) or equivalent.

  • Experience with Estidama Projects

  • Construction Site Experience

  • Knowledge of local regulations
