Job description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Structural Engineer specializing in Bridges and Underpasses to join our team in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. As a key member of our engineering department, you will play a crucial role in the design and construction supervision of major roadway projects, including new highways interchanges and the upgrading/rehabilitation of existing roads.

Responsibilities

• Lead the structural design and analysis of complex bridge and underpass projects ensuring compliance with RTA specifications and international standards.
• Develop and implement QA/QC procedures for inspections and test plans.
• Supervise and mentor junior engineers, providing technical guidance and fostering a collaborative work environment.
• Coordinate with the design team and project managers to resolve technical issues and optimize structural solutions.
• Review and approve structural calculations, drawings and technical reports.
• Conduct site visits to assess construction progress and address any structural concerns.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless integration of structural elements with other project components.
• Stay updated on the latest industry trends, technologies and best practices in bridge and underpass engineering.
• Prepare and present technical reports and recommendations to clients and stakeholders.
• Ensure project deliverables meet quality standards and are completed within budget and schedule constraints.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Structural or Civil Engineering; advanced degree preferred.
• Minimum of 12 years of experience in structural engineering with a focus on bridges and underpasses (Cut & Cover).
• Comprehensive knowledge of RTA specifications and familiarity with Construction of Box Girder Bridges in UAE/Dubai.
• Proficiency in structural analysis and design software.
• Strong understanding of international bridge design codes and standards.
• Demonstrated experience in developing QA/QC procedures for inspections and test plans.
• Excellent project management skills including the ability to lead teams and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with meticulous attention to detail.
• Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams.
• Familiarity with local construction practices and regulations in the UAE.
• RTA Pre‑Approval is highly desirable.
• Middle East or UAE/Dubai experience preferred.
• Professional engineering license or equivalent certification is a plus.
