Overview
The Senior Structural Engineer will be responsible for providing technical expertise leadership and guidance in the design analysis and execution of structural engineering projects. They will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, mentor junior engineers and ensure the successful completion of projects while upholding the highest standards of quality and safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Project Leadership and Execution: Lead the structural design process and team including Structural Engineer and BIM/CAD Technician from conceptualization to completion, ensuring compliance with codes, standards and client requirements.
- Manage and oversee multiple projects concurrently including structural analysis calculations and preparation of design drawings and specifications.
- Conduct site visits and inspections to assess structural integrity and provide technical recommendations.
- Utilize advanced structural engineering software and tools to perform analysis and design of various structural components and systems.
- Develop innovative and cost-effective structural solutions while considering sustainability and environmental impact.
- Review and approve design documents, calculations and drawings to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including architects, contractors and other engineers to integrate structural designs into overall project plans.
- Mentor and support junior engineers providing technical guidance, training and constructive feedback.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement and knowledge sharing within the structural engineering team.
- Engage with clients to understand project requirements, present technical solutions and address inquiries or concerns.
- Participate in client meetings providing technical expertise and guidance throughout the project lifecycle.
- Maintain strong client relationships by delivering high-quality and innovative structural designs.
- Liaise with other designers including architects, mechanical and electrical engineers to agree on safe designs that fit with the aesthetic concept of the project.
- Implement the in-house Quality Assurance (QA/QC) program to ensure design and documents produced by the structural team meet the specified quality standards.
- Adhere to all office procedures and communication protocols.
- As a representative of PNCA, maintain the integrity and spirit of the organization.
- Maintain sensitive and confidential information safely at all times.
- Follow all QA/QC checks for all work procedures.
- Undertake structured Continuing Professional Development (CPD).
- Be highly organized, self-motivated and a good team player with excellent communication skills.
- Devote oneself exclusively to the performance of duties during working hours and, if required, beyond working hours for the efficient discharge of duties.
- Ability to perform under pressure and meet tight targets.
- Presentable in smart business attire at all times.
Qualification & Experience
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Civil Engineering or related field; Professional Engineer (PE) or Chartered (CEng) license preferred.
- Required relevant experience: Min 10 years and Max 15 Years.
- Industries: Design Consultancy or Construction International Firm.
- Experience in structural design of high-rise and mid-rise building structures.
- Experience on a PT design is a plus.
- Proficient in using both manual and computer software including ETABS, SAFE, SAP, PROKON, RAM Concept; knowledge of BIM/Revit and AutoCAD.
