Do you love building new strategic and data‑driven businesses? Join the AWS Global Sales (AGS) organization as a GenAI / ML Area Specialist Solutions Architect (area is Sub‑Saharan Africa)! AGS is responsible for driving revenue adoption and growth from the largest and fastest growing small‑ and mid‑market accounts to enterprise‑level customers including public sector and start‑ups.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide customers with deep technical expertise in Generative AI, Predictive AI, and Machine Learning with AWS products to meet their business objectives.
  • Educate customers on the value proposition of AWS and participate in architectural discussions to ensure solutions are designed for successful deployment in the cloud.
  • Collaborate with specialist sales, marketing and product teams to ideate around your customers’ most challenging problems.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to line‑of‑business AI, Data and C‑suite leaders.
  • Lead architectural reviews and workshops to advance your customers’ technical objectives.
  • Act as a thought leader sharing best practices through forums such as AWS blogs, whitepapers, reference architectures and public‑speaking events such as AWS Summit, AWS re:Invent, etc.; participate as a leader in AWS technical communities.
  • Provide data and anecdotes on what is working and what is not back to the larger specialist community and product teams.
  • Act as primary point of contact for urgent customer issues in your technical specialty.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Track record of thought leadership and innovation around Machine Learning.
  • Comfortable presenting to senior data and AI leaders and demonstrated ability to think strategically about business, product and technical challenges in an enterprise environment.
Requirements
  • 7 years design/implementation/consulting experience of distributed applications.
  • 5 years management of technical customer‑facing resources.
  • 5 years of AI/ML service‑area technical experience.
  • Highly independent.
  • Experience in emerging markets and financial services.
  • Ability to travel within Sub‑Saharan Africa at least quarterly.
  • History of successful technical consulting and/or architecture engagements with large‑scale customers or enterprises.
  • Experience migrating or transforming legacy customer solutions to the cloud.
  • Familiarity with common enterprise services and working knowledge of software development tools and methodologies.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with a high degree of comfort speaking with executives, IT management and developers.
  • Experience working within software development or Internet‑related industries.
  • AWS Solution Architecture certification or relevant cloud expertise.
  • Computer Science / relevant degree and/or experience highly desired.
