Job Objective
Contributing to technical delivery of engineering excellence through executing assigned scopes of work, providing discipline expertise to the business and supporting and supervising task delegation to team.
Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities
Executing Assigned Scopes of Work:
- Participate as a team member in specific phases of broad engineering assignments
- Direct preparation of appropriate documentation for assigned projects
- Ensure successful completion of the assigned project within budget, time and cost constraints
- Define engineering approaches and plan and schedule work
- Evaluate problems, organize investigations and establish performance specifications for components, equipment, systems or processes
- Check engineering calculations and drawings in accordance with industry codes and standards; assist with the development of less senior Technical Professionals
- Adhere to discipline‑specific procedures and provide feedback for continuous improvement
- Participate in audits and incident investigations as required
- Perform complex engineering tasks related to specific units of major projects
- Attend project review meetings, design reviews and other workshops
- Organize and actively participate in design reviews
Providing Discipline Expertise:
- Solve problems requiring new approaches or uses of existing approaches; exercise mature professional judgment in evaluating and selecting technical strategic options
- Modify established guidelines, devise new approaches and apply existing criteria in new ways
- Function as a technical leader or significant contributor to major complex projects
- Generate innovative ideas and solutions for complex technical problems
- Anticipate potential problems and proactively solve them through creative thinking
- Understand customer needs and apply technical solutions to meet goals
- Provide technical input and support to proposals as required
Supporting and Supervising Task Delegation to Team:
- May supervise a small work group of technical/professional staff with coaching from own supervisor
- Assign tasks, plan and coordinate engineering work, prepare scopes, schedules and budgets, attend project meetings and develop lesser‑experienced technical professionals
- Coordinate activities of engineering and design groups for small projects
- May manage one or more small projects, responsible for cost, schedule, resources and risk
- Provide appropriate HSSE leadership and ensure compliance with site and office safety requirements

Expected Qualifications
- B.Sc. or equivalent degree in Engineering from an accredited university
- Minimum of 10+ years relevant experience in major brownfield oil & gas projects, including at least 5 years in a similar position
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
- Experience in oil and gas projects across their lifecycle in the GCC region, preferred
- Pre‑FEED and FEED experience required
- Detailed engineering experience preferred

- Guide and direct project team, managing, motivating and mentoring professional engineering specialists
- Discover issues and recommend solutions to technical and commercial issues during assignments
- Proficient user of relevant software and calculation templates
- Professional knowledge of standards, processes and procedures and their application in work execution
- Knowledge of applicable codes and standards
- Technically competent in own discipline; pursue continuous professional development according to standards
- Maintain knowledge of regulatory framework, legislation changes, initiatives and industry technology developments, and promote to direct reports
- Apply advanced laws, principles, mathematics or industry knowledge to improve designs

- Demonstrate proficiency in project planning
- Possess working knowledge of business units, functions, sectors and services offered within Wood business area, and general understanding of other Wood business offerings
