Overview

We are seeking an experienced Business Development person to drive growth within targeted industry verticals. The ideal candidate brings 5-7 years of proven experience, strong industry relationships, exceptional communication skills, and a consistent track record of achieving revenue and gross profit (GP) targets. This role requires a strategic thinker who can identify opportunities, build long‑term client partnerships, and deliver impactful sales outcomes.

Responsibilities

1. Sales & Revenue Growth Government & Regulatory Bodies

  • Develop and execute vertical‑specific sales strategies to achieve annual revenue and GP targets.
  • Identify, qualify, and close new business opportunities within assigned industry verticals.
  • Expand wallet share with existing accounts through upselling and cross‑selling solutions.

2. Client Relationship Management

  • Build strong, trust‑based relationships with key decision‑makers and stakeholders.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for major accounts within the assigned vertical.
  • Conduct regular business reviews to understand customer needs and propose solutions.

3. Market & Industry Intelligence

  • Stay current with industry trends, competitor activity, and market dynamics.
  • Analyze market potential and develop new strategies to penetrate emerging segments within the vertical.

4. Strategic Planning

  • Develop annual and quarterly sales plans aligned with organizational objectives.
  • Prepare accurate sales forecasts, pipelines, and performance reports.

5. Cross‑Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with product, marketing, and operations teams to develop tailored solutions.
  • Ensure seamless delivery and customer satisfaction by coordinating with internal stakeholders.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in any discipline or equivalent
  • 5-7 Years of sales experience with minimum 3 years in a Freight Forwarding company
  • Exposure to Ocean and Air Freight Forwarding Sales
  • Experience in managing sales for a region
  • Proven track record of achieving revenue and GP targets consistently.
  • Ability to analyze numerical data and understand components, relationships, find patterns and draw conclusions.
  • Basic knowledge of CargoWise
  • Ability to communicate and interact effectively with a variety of people; can effectively present information in one‑on‑one settings.
  • Strategic thinking with analytical problem‑solving abilities.
