Job description

Responsibilities

• Lead the Electrical Engineering activities in accordance with Project requirements within the assigned budget, time schedule and quality standards.
• Ensure compliance with all Project interfaces and supervise in/out information flow regarding electrical discipline.
• Review and approve sub-contractor electrical engineering deliverables. Ensure that the electrical design meets the approved project specifications.
• Review of supplier and package documentation for integration within Project design, such as GA/Details/Calculations/Fabrication Procedures. Technical evaluation/clarification of supplier bids.
• Coordination & Interface Management. Construction & Site Support. Resolve site electrical issues and interface clashes. Testing & Commissioning Support.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience working in engineering firms.
• Experience in a similar role in engineering management.
• Should have worked in an overseas location - preferably Middle East.
• Minimum 8-10 years' experience in a similar field, five of which in a Senior role.

Required Skills

• Good knowledge of electrical power systems (LV/MV/HV), including: AC/DC theory; Power generation, transmission, and distribution; Short-circuit theory and fault analysis; Motor starting and protection principles; Understanding of power quality (harmonics, voltage dips, flicker), etc.
• Good knowledge of discipline related codes and standards (IEC / IEEE / API/ ASME/ etc).
• Ability to review and challenge/comment sub-contractor designs.
• Familiarity with electrical design tools (ETAP, DAILux evo, or equivalent, etc.).
• Ability to lead technical discussions with sub-contractors and clients.
• Decision-making and problem-solving capability.
• Strong coordination and communication skills.
• Good documentation and reporting skills.
