Overview

Position: Senior Draftsman | Experience Required: 10+ years | Location: Abu Dhabi | Type: Full-time

Al Sahraa Recruitment Services is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Draftsman to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating detailed technical drawings and plans for architectural, engineering, and construction projects. This role involves interpreting design concepts and translating them into precise technical drawings, coordinating with other professionals, and ensuring that all drawings adhere to industry standards and project specifications. The Senior Draftsman plays a key role in the design and development process, contributing to the successful execution of projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Technical Drawing Creation: Produce detailed and accurate technical drawings, plans, and blueprints using computer-aided design (CAD) software, such as AutoCAD, Revit, or similar tools.
• Design Interpretation: Work closely with architects, engineers, and designers to understand design concepts and translate them into technical drawings that meet project requirements.
• Quality Control: Review and verify the accuracy of drawings and specifications, ensuring they meet industry standards, client expectations, and project specifications.
• Revisions & Updates: Make necessary revisions to drawings based on feedback from engineers, architects, or project managers. Ensure that all changes are accurately documented and communicated.
• Coordination: Collaborate with other draftsmen, architects, and engineers to ensure consistency across all drawings and documents. Coordinate with project teams to resolve any discrepancies or issues.
• Material & Specification Detailing: Provide detailed information on materials, dimensions, and construction methods to ensure that the drawings can be effectively used in the construction process.
• Document Management: Maintain organized records of all drawings, revisions, and related documents. Ensure that all files are properly stored and accessible for future reference.
• Mentorship & Training: Provide guidance and mentorship to junior draftsmen, helping them develop their technical skills and understanding of industry standards.
• Compliance: Ensure that all drawings comply with local building codes, regulations, and industry standards.

Qualifications

• Education: Diploma or degree in Drafting, Architecture, Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience: Minimum of 7-8 years of experience in drafting, with a strong background in [insert relevant industry, e.g., architectural, structural, mechanical].
• Technical Skills: Proficient in CAD software (AutoCAD, Revit, etc.) and other relevant design tools. Strong understanding of building codes, construction methods, and materials.
• Attention to Detail: Exceptional attention to detail and precision in creating technical drawings and documentation.
• Soft Skills: Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
• Certifications: Relevant certifications in drafting or CAD software are preferred.
