The Senior Consultant BAU is responsible for delivering end-to-end global payroll outsourcing services, ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant payroll processing. The role acts as the primary point of contact (POC) for clients and internal teams and requires strong multi-country payroll expertise and the ability to work independently in a remote-first environment.
- Process payroll across multiple countries in compliance with local labor laws and tax regulations.
- Manage end-to-end payroll activities including data validation, earnings, deductions, and tax calculations.
- Adhere to payroll calendars, turnaround times (TAT), and automated system-driven processes.
- Reconcile Gross-to-Net (G2N), bank files, and General Ledger (GL) prior to payroll release.
- Manage year-end payroll activities including statutory reporting, tax filings, and audits.
- Ensure timely and accurate statutory filings, payroll taxes, and social security submissions.
- Collaborate with compliance teams to implement regulatory updates.
- Conduct periodic audits of statutory processes and implement improvements.
- Leverage automation to improve payroll accuracy, efficiency, and compliance.
- Deliver payroll services strictly within contractual scope and prevent scope creep.
- Conduct regular scope reviews and escape potential misalignments.
- Partner with Account Management and Implementation teams to validate requirement changes.
- Maintain transparent communication with clients regarding service inclusions and changes.
- Accept new clients after Hypercare completion and review all onboarding artifacts.
- Validate payroll setup accuracy and complete handover checklists.
- Perform end-to-end payroll testing and resolve discrepancies before BAU ownership.
- Collaborate with Implementation and Client Success teams to ensure smooth transitions.
- Ensure trained backup resources and maintain comprehensive process documentation.
- Execute knowledge transfer plans and periodically test backup readiness.
- Maintain SOPs, payroll documentation, wage type catalogs, and data dictionaries.
- Ensure all payroll system changes follow formal change management processes.
- Track and document change requests (CRs) and audit documentation regularly.
- Identify manual inefficiencies and raise tickets for automation and system enhancements.
- Collaborate with IT teams to implement automation and process improvements.
- Monitor automation effectiveness and continuously optimize payroll workflows.
- Track and manage customer support tickets to meet SLA commitments.
- Escalate unresolved issues, conduct root cause analysis (RCA), and prepare monthly SLA reports.
- Proactively communicate ticket status and resolutions to clients.
- Strong expertise in multi-country payroll operations and global compliance.
- Experience with SLA tracking, support ticket management, and service reporting.
- Knowledge of statutory filings and automation-driven payroll processes.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Up-to-date knowledge of global labor laws and statutory regulations.
- 7+ years of experience in global payroll processing, payroll outsourcing, or payroll consulting.
- Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, HR, Business Administration, or related field.
- Professional certifications (CPP, CIPP, IPASS, Global Payroll Certification) preferred.
