Assistant Second Mate

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Assistant Second Mate to join our team in El-Fujairah, UAE. This is a great opportunity for an individual who is looking to start their career as a seafarer and is willing to work hard and learn new skills.

Responsibilities:
- Assist the Chief Officer and Captain in the safe navigation and operation of the vessel
- Stand watch on the bridge during designated periods, maintaining a vigilant lookout for any hazards or other vessels
- Maintain accurate records of all activities related to navigation, including weather conditions, ship's position, speed, and course
- Conduct routine checks of all safety equipment and report any defects or malfunctions to the Chief Officer
- Assist with mooring and anchoring operations as needed
- Participate in safety drills and emergency procedures
- Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of assigned areas on the vessel

Requirements:
- Must hold a valid Second Mate license or certificate issued by an approved maritime authority
- Fluent in English (knowledge of Arabic is a plus)
- Preferably from African or Egyptian nationality
- No prior experience required but must be willing to undergo training and learn on the job
- Willing to live onboard the vessel with provided accommodation
