Job Description
This role is responsible for managing and overseeing Health and Safety activities across hospital and construction-related operations. The position focuses on risk assessment, permit‑to‑work systems, regulatory compliance, audits, training, and coordination with stakeholders to ensure adherence to health, safety, and hospital standards.
Responsibilities
- Prepare risk assessments and related documents associated with clients and contractors
- Conduct MSRA briefings for relevant team members involved in contract works
- Manage permit‑to‑work procedures, including documentation and closure
- Monitor site operations to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and hospital standards
- Conduct regular health and safety inspections/audits and incident investigations, including root cause analysis and follow‑up on corrective and preventive actions
- Prepare and deliver health and safety training and awareness programs for doctors, hospital staff, and subcontractors
- Review and approve work permits, method statements, and risk assessments prior to hospital or construction activities
- Develop HSE plans and emergency response plans, and conduct medical, fire, and chemical spillage drills across multiple facilities
- Liaise with regulatory bodies, hospital management, and contractors on health and safety matters
- Support documentation requirements for external audits related to certifications
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in science or engineering from a recognized university
- NEBOSH International General Certificate (IGC)
- IOSH Managing Safely certification or equivalent
- Strong communication skills with proficiency in English
- 3–5 years of practical health and safety experience
- Experience across construction, healthcare, oil & gas, marine, and life safety environments
- Demonstrated ability to develop and implement health and safety management systems
- Hands‑on experience in incident investigation and root cause analysis with corrective and preventive follow‑up
