Job summary

A leading construction company in Abu Dhabi is seeking a Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) Specialist. This role involves implementing HSE policies, conducting site inspections, and coordinating training sessions. Candidates should have a relevant degree, at least 7 years of experience in HSE roles within the construction industry, and necessary certifications. Immediate availability is preferred.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 7 years of experience in HSE roles within the construction industry.
  • At least 5 years experience in the UAE/Gulf region.
  • Must hold relevant certifications such as NEBOSH IGC, IOSH, or equivalent.

Job description
Responsibilities
  • Implement and enforce the company's Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) policies and procedures on site.
  • Conduct daily site inspections to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
  • Coordinate and conduct safety inductions, toolbox talks, and training sessions for all workers and subcontractors.
  • Maintain and update safety logs, inspection checklists, and incident / accident reports.
  • Investigate incidents and near misses, determine root causes, and recommend corrective / preventive actions.
  • Liaise with site engineers, foremen, and subcontractors to ensure safety measures are integrated into the daily work plan.
  • Ensure proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) by all site personnel.
  • Monitor and enforce compliance with UAE labor laws and local safety authority standards (e.g., DM, Trakhees, HSEAD, etc.).
  • Assist in preparing safety reports for internal management and external stakeholders.
  • Support emergency preparedness and response plans on site.
Qualifications
  • Diploma or Bachelors Degree in a relevant field (Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, or equivalent).
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in HSE roles within the construction industry, with at least 5 years in the UAE / Gulf region.
  • Must hold relevant certifications such as NEBOSH IGC, IOSH, or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of local authority requirements and international safety standards (e.g., OSHA, ISO 45001).
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Proficient in report writing and use of MS Office applications.
  • Must be currently based in the UAE.
  • Can join immediately.
