Resident Engineer (Structures/Bridges)

Parsons is looking for an talented Resident Engineer (Structures/Bridges) to join our team! In this role you will get to plan, schedule, supervise, and exercise administrative authority over all field of engineering work.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Serve as the Engineer on record during the construction phase, with responsibilities and authority delegated by the Employer.
  • Maintain direct communication with the Contractor and ensure that all construction activities comply with the contract.
  • Monitor and inspect ongoing construction works, issuing instructions to correct non‑compliant activities, materials, or equipment.
  • Lead and support the construction supervision team, including site engineers, inspectors, and surveyors.
  • Advise the Employer on variation orders, contractor claims, and financial instructions.
  • Recommend contractor payments and provide assessments related to cost and contractual matters.
  • Offer guidance on roadworks, utility works, traffic diversions, and related infrastructure tasks.
  • Review and approve shop drawings, as‑built drawings, method statements, material submittals, and RFIs.
  • Maintain daily diaries and ensure thorough documentation of progress and issues on‑site.
  • Prepare progress and performance reports; track actual work completed against the project schedule.
  • Coordinate with Parsons’ design team, the contractor, and external authorities to resolve project issues.
  • Monitor and ensure the implementation of safety procedures, reporting any incidents or near misses.
  • Oversee project HSE compliance and actively promote a culture of safety.
  • Lead site meetings and ensure timely dissemination of project documents and correspondence.
  • Ensure records are accurate and complete, reporting updates to the SRE, Construction Manager, or Project Manager.
  • Support contract administration and perform any other tasks relevant to this role.
What Required Skills You'll Bring
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized institution.
  • Minimum 15 years post graduate experience in supervision, and construction management of major infrastructure/ bridge projects.
  • Proven experience in managing supervision activities on large‑scale infrastructure projects, including bridges preferably in the Gulf region.
  • Chartered Engineer or Professional Engineer (PE) registration or other similar professional organizations preferred.
  • Emphasis on Quality Assurance Specifications and Statistical Quality Control.
  • Ability to review and evaluate technical submittals, laboratory test results, and ensure compliance with project specifications.
  • Solid understanding of construction contracts and project documentation.
  • Proficient in computer applications relevant to engineering and construction, including record‑keeping and report generation.
