Job Summary:
The Quarry Manager is responsible for overseeing all quarry operations to ensure safe, efficient, and cost-effective production while meeting quality, sales, and health & safety requirements. This role involves managing production systems, coordinating with internal teams, and ensuring compliance with all regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure quarry production levels are maintained safely and in line with agreed schedules.
- Balance production output with sales demand.
- Adjust production systems according to material requirements.
- Liaise closely with sales, commercial teams, and mining engineers to ensure optimal output from resources.
- Manage and monitor production performance, setting targets and ensuring they are achieved.
- Provide regular reports, statistics, and performance data on quarry operations to management.
- Prepare, manage, and control the quarry’s operational budget.
- Maintain accurate, up-to-date records and handle all required documentation and paperwork.
- Ensure all health and safety policies and procedures are fully implemented across the site.
- Monitor all quarry areas to ensure extraction and processing are carried out to the highest standards.
- Conduct regular site inspections and risk assessments to ensure compliance with health & safety regulations.
- Liaise with site staff and address any operational, technical, or staffing challenges.
- Inspect materials produced to ensure consistent quality standards are met.
- Assess equipment condition and production material levels.
- Order new equipment, tools, and materials as required.
- Ensure all vehicles and machinery on site are properly maintained and in good working condition.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Geological, or Mining Engineering).
- Relevant engineering certifications as applicable.
- Minimum of 6–8 years of relevant experience in quarrying, mining, or heavy industrial operations.
