Job description
Overview

We are seeking a highly capable and experienced Project Manager – Water to serve in the capacity of an Individual contributor on large-scale water and wastewater infrastructure programs. This role involves acting as a neutral and authoritative technical advisor, overseeing the project's performance and compliance across all phases, and ensuring successful coordination between the client, EPC contractor, and stakeholders.

Your role
  • Act as the Independent Engineer and trusted advisor for high-value water infrastructure projects, ensuring contractual and technical compliance.
  • Oversee all project phases including planning, design review, construction, commissioning, and handover.
  • Review and validate project designs, construction methodologies, programs, and technical submissions to ensure alignment with client requirements, codes, and specifications.
  • Monitor progress, quality, safety, and environmental performance on site and report objectively to the client.
  • Facilitate communication and alignment between client and contractor; manage stakeholder expectations and provide resolution to technical issues.
  • Lead regular inspections, audits, and technical meetings, providing clear documentation and formal reports on findings.
  • Manage risk identification and mitigation strategies, including review of delay claims, cost variations, and design changes.
  • Ensure compliance with permits, regulatory obligations, and international/national standards throughout project execution.
  • Mentor and supervise multidisciplinary teams, ensuring delivery of services in line with project timelines and budgets.
About you
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management or related; Master's degree is preferred.
  • Project Management Certification – PMP, PRINCE2 or similar is required.
  • Minimum 20 years of experience in water/wastewater infrastructure projects, with at least 5 years in a project management or independent engineer-type role.
  • Demonstrated experience on large-scale EPC or design & build contracts, preferably involving public-private partnerships (PPP) or government utilities.
  • Strong technical understanding of water transmission, distribution networks, pumping stations, reservoirs, and treatment facilities.
  • Familiarity with international design and construction standards (e.g., AWWA, ISO, FIDIC, EN).
  • Excellent communication, reporting, and client management skills.
  • GCC experience and knowledge of local authority processes are advantageous.
