Job summary

A leading engineering firm is seeking a Project Manager (Power Projects) with over 10 years of experience in managing power infrastructure projects. The ideal candidate will represent the client in all project-related activities, oversee engineering designs, and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards. PMP certification is preferred, and fluency in English is required, with Arabic as a plus. This role is based in Abu Dhabi, UAE.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 10 years experience managing power infrastructure projects in a consultancy role.
• PMP certification or equivalent is preferred.
• Strong understanding of international standards (IEC, IEEE, etc.) and engineering practices.

Job Title: Project Manager Power Projects

Key Responsibilities:

• Represent the client in all project-related activities ensuring design, procurement and construction meet quality, safety and contractual standards.
• Oversee the review of engineering designs, technical submittals and contractor deliverables.
• Manage the project from the consultancy side coordinating with contractors, consultants and stakeholders to ensure timely progress and compliance.
• Monitor and report on schedule, budget, risks and overall project performance.
• Provide expert advice on technical matters, design coordination and construction methodologies.
• Review and validate contractor claims, change orders, progress payments and contractual correspondence.
• Facilitate coordination between different technical disciplines (civil, electrical, mechanical) involved in overhead lines, substations and power generation systems.
• Participate in project audits, risk assessments and strategic planning sessions.
• Ensure project documentation is complete, compliant and properly archived.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering (Master's degree is a plus).
• PMP certification or equivalent is preferred.
• Minimum of 10 years experience managing power infrastructure projects in a consultancy role.
• Strong understanding of international standards (IEC, IEEE, etc.) and transmission/distribution engineering practices.
• Experience working with EPC contract or similar contract forms.
• Proven track record in delivering complex multi-disciplinary projects in the power sector.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Fluent in English; Arabic is a plus.
• Familiar with project management tools and reporting platforms (Primavera, MS Project).
