This role is a full-time residential position based in Dubai, UAE with travel requirements.

The role

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Project Cost Controller to join our UAE Business Unit.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the cost, planning, scheduling and risk assessment support to assignments / project teams and clients, typically on smaller projects.
  • Set up and run all required project controls systems, tools, and interfaces to allow successful management and reporting of project costs, schedule and risks.
  • Perform a hands-on role focusing on both project and service delivery and, at times, resource management.
  • Interface with several key stakeholders across the project and wider business.
  • Serve as the primary focal point for the Project Manager, Client or Project Team for all matters relating to project costs, schedules, and risks and resource requirements.
  • Ensure a professional Project Controls service is delivered by the team to all internal and external customers.

Key Objectives
  • Lead project cost planning, scheduling and risk assessment for assignments and project teams, typically on smaller projects.
  • Set up and operate project controls systems and interfaces to enable management and reporting of costs, schedules and risks.
  • Maintain a hands-on role in project delivery and resource management as required.
Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities
  • Act as the focal point with the client and contractor Project Controllers to ensure costs and progress are reported accurately and aligned with project reporting requirements.
  • Monitor overall project progress, milestones and performance against plan; provide early warning of potential slippages.
  • Manage communications interfaces for cost, planning, scheduling and risk deliverables.
  • Report project status and KPIs to management; produce weekly and monthly cost and planning status reports.
  • Implement and maintain Work Breakdown Structure and cost/planning control structures; lead cost code allocation and budget setup.
  • Forecast budgets and assess impact of change requests; update budgets/schedules accordingly.
  • Support Project Accountants and Billing Specialists; monitor subcontractor progress and quantities for quotations.
  • Maintain project S-Curves, Histograms and Gantt charts; ensure resource plans meet project needs.
  • Identify slippages and erosion of floats; lead recovery and change management processes.
  • Lead change orders/variations in accordance with contracts; ensure risk is managed at project level.
  • Attend client progress meetings when required; facilitate proposal schedules and CTR packs.
  • Lead risk analysis workshops; ensure risk management processes are followed.
  • Ensure accuracy and completeness of all cost, planning and risk deliverables prior to issue.
  • Ensure project tools and systems are set up and functioning; supervise the Project Controls team as required.
  • Support staff performance and competency reviews.
