Professor/Associate Professor of Mass Communication & Public Relations

The College of Mass Communication (MC) at Ajman University invites applications for the position of Professor/Associate Professor of Mass Communication & Public Relations, starting in Fall 2026/2027. The successful candidate will have primary teaching and research interests in Communication within the discipline of Public Relations, Integrated Marketing Communication & Communication Studies and will be expected to teach in both graduate and undergraduate programs. The selected candidate will also be expected to engage effectively with industry and the business community.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
  • Ph.D. in Mass Communication / Communication Studies, obtained from a reputable university (preferably internationally ranked and accredited).
  • Applicants holding a Ph.D. in Business Administration, Management, or Marketing without an academic degree background in Mass Communication/Communication (e.g., BA/MA in Communication/Media/PR/Advertising) will not be considered.
  • Five or more years of teaching experience in an internationally accredited reputable university.
  • Demonstrable excellence in developing and teaching (including but not limited to) Marketing Communication, Public Relations, Corporate Communication, Digital Communication, Advertising, and related courses at both undergraduate and graduate levels.
  • Outstanding record of research and peer-reviewed publications in reputable indexed journals (e.g., Scopus).
  • A record of collaborative and interdisciplinary research is an advantage.
  • Demonstrable record of supervising student projects and dissertations/theses.
  • Excellent record of professional and community service.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Design, deliver, and assess graduate and undergraduate courses in Communication, Public Relations, Corporate Communication, Advertising, and Digital Communication.
  • Engage in innovative and technology-based approaches to teaching and learning.
  • Provide academic advising services to students.
  • Conduct high-quality research and publish in reputable journals and conferences.
  • Participate in committees and service tasks at department/college/university levels as assigned.
  • Actively contribute to the growth and visibility of Ajman University.
  • Provide consultancy and industry-facing services to Ajman University partners and business community members.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
