Role Overview
We are seeking a Production-Oriented Naval Engineer to support the engineering, installation, and delivery of onboard systems and fittings for luxury pleasure craft. This role bridges engineering design and shipyard execution, working closely with production, suppliers, and logistics to ensure high-quality installations compliant with class and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Engineering & Design
- Engineer complex onboard fittings such as glass systems, insulation, and life‑saving appliances in compliance with applicable rules and regulations.
- Prepare detailed installation drawings and technical documentation for production.
- Support standardisation of installation methods across projects.
Production Support
- Follow up installations during production to ensure quality, compliance, and correct execution.
- Provide hands‑on technical support to production teams.
- Identify and resolve technical issues during the build phase.
Materials & Supplier Coordination
- Prepare and manage Bills of Materials (BOMs).
- Coordinate with suppliers on specifications, lead times, and technical requirements.
- Work closely with logistics to align deliveries with production schedules.
- Support cost optimisation without compromising quality.
After‑Sales Support
- Provide technical assistance for after‑sales issues related to installed systems or equipment.
- Liaise with suppliers and internal teams to resolve post‑delivery technical matters.
Software Requirements
- SolidWorks – essential
- AutoCAD – essential
- Rhinoceros – optional
Skills & Competencies
- Strong professional English communication skills.
- Detail‑oriented with a strong quality mindset.
- Cost‑aware and solution‑driven.
- Hands‑on, proactive, and adaptable in a production environment.
- Structured, organised, and able to manage multiple priorities.
Education & Experience
- Experience in marine engineering, ideally within GRP vessel or luxury yacht manufacturing.
- Shipyard or production‑based experience is highly valued.
- Degree in Naval Architecture or Marine Engineering preferred.
