Procurement Specialist — Abu Dhabi, UAE | Ankabut Information Technology

Ankabut is seeking a Procurement Specialist to play a key role in optimizing the procurement of goods and services while supporting operational efficiency and financial objectives. This role is critical to ensuring cost-effective purchasing, strong vendor relationships, and compliance with organizational policies.

Responsibilities
  • Identify, evaluate, and select reliable vendors through assessments and negotiations to secure favorable commercial terms.
  • Request, analyze, and compare supplier quotations based on price, quality, and delivery timelines.
  • Negotiate, finalize, and periodically review supplier contracts to ensure legal compliance and optimal value.
  • Prepare and manage purchase orders, monitor deliveries, and promptly resolve discrepancies.
  • Implement cost-effective procurement strategies and track cost savings and avoidance initiatives.
  • Build and maintain strong supplier relationships, addressing issues and fostering long-term collaboration.
  • Ensure full compliance with Ankabut’s procurement policies, procedures, and audit requirements.
  • Coordinate closely with internal stakeholders including finance, inventory, and project teams.
  • Continuously review and improve procurement processes, identifying opportunities for automation and efficiency.
  • Monitor supplier quality and performance, conducting regular evaluations and resolving quality issues.
  • Establish and track supplier KPIs, providing feedback and driving continuous improvement.
  • Support procurement-related budget planning, monitor spend, and identify cost optimization opportunities.
  • Integrate sustainability and responsible sourcing criteria into procurement decisions.
  • Conduct market research to stay updated on trends, suppliers, and emerging technologies.
  • Mediate and resolve supplier disputes professionally while maintaining strong relationships.
  • Stay informed on procurement best practices, regulations, and industry standards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Line Manager.
Qualifications & Experience

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  • Professional certifications such as CPSM or CPM are an advantage.

Experience

  • UAE Nationals: Minimum 3 years of procurement experience.
  • Expatriates: Minimum 5 years of procurement experience.
  • Experience in IT or technology procurement is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Proven experience in supplier selection, contract negotiation, and supplier performance management.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and negotiation skills.
