About Wynn Al Marjan Island

On schedule to open in the United Arab Emirates in early 2027, Wynn Al Marjan Island has been created as an opulent and entertaining beachside destination for discerning guests to play and relax. Located less than 50 minutes from Dubai International Airport, this integrated resort offering 1,530 rooms and suites, 22 restaurants and lounges, a theatre, nightclub, and five-star spa is currently under construction on a picturesque island that gracefully curves into the Arabian Gulf.

About The Position

Wynn Al Marjan Island is currently seeking Principle Lighting Technician Internal to join the resort’s Engineering team.

The Primary Duties And Responsibilities Of This Role Are

  • Supervise and perform daily operations, preventive maintenance, and repairs for all lighting systems, ensuring reliability and compliance with design intent.
  • Conduct inspections to verify performance, safety, and adherence to Wynn specifications and local regulations.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues involving LV electrical lighting systems and control networks (DMX, DALI, Art-Net/sACN).
  • Support lighting design reviews and installations for new projects.
  • Maintain detailed documentation, including lighting layouts, wiring diagrams, maintenance logs, and asset inventories.
  • Train and mentor junior lighting technicians.
  • Ensure energy efficiency and recommend sustainability improvements.
  • Support new lighting installations, upgrades, and renovation projects.
  • Coordinate with contractors and internal teams during installation, programming, and commissioning of lighting systems.
  • Provide expert lighting programming and operation for events, ensuring seamless execution aligned with the creative vision.
  • Ensure compliance with UAE regulations, NFPA standards, civil defense requirements, and Wynn Resorts’ internal safety protocols.
  • Conduct routine emergency lighting and egress light tests in accordance with statutory requirements.
  • Work closely with Events, Entertainment, and F&B teams to create immersive lighting experiences that enhance guest satisfaction.
  • Respond quickly to guest-facing lighting issues to ensure minimal disruption and maintain the luxury ambiance

About You

The ideal candidate for this position will have the following experience and qualifications:

  • Diploma or Degree in Electrical Engineering, Lighting Technology or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in lighting systems maintenance, with exposure to luxury hospitality or large entertainment venues Strong knowledge of LV electrical systems and lighting controls.
  • Strong knowledge of LV electrical systems, lighting control protocols (DMX, DALI, Art-Net/sACN), and theatrical/architectural lighting
  • Hands-on experience with theatrical and façade lighting systems.
  • Familiarity with UAE regulations, NFPA and Wynn standards.
  • Experience in façade and landscape lighting operations in hospitality or resort environments preferred
  • Advanced technical problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and coordination skills.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required in a 24/7 operational environment.
