Overview

Job Title: Senior Power BI Developer

Location: Remote

Contract Duration: 6 months (extendable)

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Power BI Developer with 8+ years of experience delivering high-quality business intelligence solutions. The role will focus on designing, developing, and optimising Power BI dashboards and reports to support data-driven decision-making across the organisation.

The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in data modelling, DAX, SQL, and Power Platform integrations, with the ability to work across multiple data sources and engage effectively with business stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

Power BI Development & Optimisation

• Design, develop, and maintain interactive Power BI dashboards and reports
• Optimise DAX calculations and queries to improve performance
• Implement row-level security (RLS) and role-based access controls

Data Modelling & ETL

• Build and maintain scalable data models for enterprise reporting
• Develop ETL pipelines using Power Query, SQL, and automation tools
• Integrate data from multiple sources including enterprise systems, cloud platforms, and APIs

Power Platform & Automation

• Use workflow automation tools to schedule report refreshes and notifications
• Integrate Power BI with low-code platforms and collaboration tools
• Automate data extraction, transformation, and reporting processes

Business Intelligence & Insights

• Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into actionable insights
• Perform data analysis to support strategic and operational decision-making

Performance, Governance & Best Practices

• Optimise reports for speed, scalability, and usability
• Ensure adherence to data governance, security, and compliance standards
• Monitor report usage and recommend continuous improvements

Required Skills & Experience

• 8+ years of experience in Power BI development and business intelligence
• Advanced expertise in DAX, Power Query (M), and SQL
• Strong background in data modelling, ETL processes, and performance tuning
• Hands-on experience with automation tools, collaboration platforms, and cloud-based data services
