Qualifications

Due to the nature of the projects and client expectation, the position will be based at client office in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.

Responsibilities
  • Provide overall leadership and oversight of offshore construction activities, ensuring execution aligns with approved designs, project specifications, contractual requirements, and international standards.
  • Act as the PMC focal point for offshore construction, delivering safe, efficient, and cost‑effective execution in line with project objectives.
  • Ensure that offshore construction works are executed in accordance with HSE requirements, company procedures, and regulatory obligations, with zero harm as a core objective.
  • Oversee EPC contractors’ construction methodologies, schedules, and work plans, ensuring readiness for offshore installation activities.
  • Monitor and manage offshore construction progress, costs, and quality, proactively identifying risks and implementing mitigation measures to avoid schedule delays or cost overruns.
  • Coordinate with engineering disciplines to ensure constructability is embedded in designs and that design changes are effectively managed during execution.
  • Lead and participate in constructability reviews, risk assessments, HAZID/HAZOPs, SIMOPS reviews, and offshore readiness reviews.
  • Provide technical and operational guidance during offshore installation, hook‑up, pre‑commissioning, commissioning, and start‑up activities.
  • Resolve offshore construction issues in collaboration with contractors, vendors, and engineering teams to ensure uninterrupted execution.
  • Review and endorse contractor deliverables such as construction procedures, lifting plans, installation methodologies, marine spreads, and execution schedules.
  • Ensure effective interfaces between offshore construction and onshore teams, including engineering, procurement, logistics, operations, and project controls.
  • Act as the primary offshore liaison with the Client, regulatory bodies, vessel operators, and EPC contractors.
  • Support regulatory inspections, audits, and compliance reviews related to offshore construction activities.
  • Drive continuous improvement in construction execution, including safety performance, productivity, and quality outcomes.
  • Promote the use of best practices, lessons learned, and industry standards to enhance offshore execution performance.
  • Provide leadership, mentoring, and support to offshore PMC team members, fostering a strong safety culture and high‑performance environment.
  • Ensure accurate reporting, documentation, and close‑out of offshore construction activities, including handover and as‑built documentation.

Expected:

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, civil engineering or equivalent from an accredited university with a minimum of fifteen (15+) years of relevant experience in the Offshore/Onshore Oil & Gas industry, including minimum (5) years (preferred) in GCC region
  • Must have at least five (5) years of experience in similar position in a mega Oil & Gas or Petrochemical projects. Managing team of Specialists, Senior Engineers and Engineers.
  • Offshore experience is must, whilst ADNOC experience is desired
  • PMC experience is required
  • Fully coherent in all international codes andstandards
  • Excellent command of both spoken and written English is required
  • Enthusiastic, conscientious and keen to learn / Flexible with a can‑doattitude
  • Working hands on Experience onSPEL
  • Must have working knowledge and experience of electrical discipline relevant offshore/onshore oil and gas industry codes, specifications andpractices
  • Previous experience of working in the Middle East would be an advantage
