Summary

We are seeking a passionate and skilled Pastry Chef to join our dynamic hospitality team in Al Ain. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating exquisite desserts, pastries, and baked goods that reflect both culinary excellence and cultural flair, contributing to an exceptional guest dining experience. This role demands a strong foundation in food safety standards, creativity in recipe development, and a commitment to continuous improvement in quality and presentation. The Pastry Chef will work closely with the kitchen team to ensure consistency, innovation, and adherence to hygiene protocols while managing inventory, maintaining equipment, and supporting daily operations. With a focus on freshness, flavor, and visual appeal, this position is essential to elevating our culinary offerings and maintaining a high standard of service in a fast‑paced, guest‑centric environment.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare and bake a wide variety of pastries, desserts, cakes, breads, and specialty items using both traditional and innovative techniques.
  • Ensure all ingredients meet quality and safety standards, with special attention to freshness, sourcing, and proper handling of dairy (e.g., milk) and other key components.
  • Maintain strict compliance with food safety standards and hygiene protocols in all aspects of preparation, storage, and service.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by suggesting recipe enhancements, cost‑saving measures, and operational efficiencies.
  • Manage inventory of ingredients and supplies, ensuring timely ordering and minimizing waste.
  • Supervise and mentor junior kitchen staff, providing guidance on techniques, safety, and presentation.
  • Collaborate with the Head Chef and Front‑of‑House team to align pastry offerings with menu themes and guest preferences.
  • Design and execute visually appealing dessert plating and presentation that enhance the overall dining experience.
  • Adhere to health, safety, and sanitation regulations at all times, including regular cleaning and equipment maintenance.
  • Respond promptly to daily operational demands and support special events, banquets, and seasonal menu launches.
Requirements
  • 1–3 years of proven experience as a Pastry Chef or in a similar role within a high‑volume hospitality or restaurant environment.
  • Strong knowledge of food safety standards, hygiene practices, and compliance with local health regulations.
  • Proficiency in preparing a wide range of pastries, cakes, breads, confections, and dessert items, including international and regional specialties.
  • Demonstrated ability to innovate and create unique, marketable dessert concepts that align with current culinary trends.
  • Solid understanding of basic baking principles, ingredient functionality, and recipe scaling.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for effective teamwork and collaboration across departments.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast‑paced kitchen environment with minimal supervision.
  • Valid work permit and eligibility to work in the UAE (Filipino or Nepalese nationality preferred).
